Unpacking the Decent DE1XL: A Step-by-Step Guide
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough for unboxing the Decent DE1XL, covering each step from initial unpacking to setting up components like the water tank and tablet. Follow these instructions to smoothly transition from box to brew.
Initial Unboxing Steps
Unpacking the Decent DE1XL espresso machine begins with turning the box upside down and lifting the cardboard off the suitcase. Remove all corner protectors and the plastic sleeve. The suitcase can be opened from either side without any preference. After removing one piece of foam, you will begin to see the components inside.
The first items to take out are the drip tray, drip tray cover, tablet, and tablet stand. Once these are removed, you can lift the machine out by placing one hand under the group head and the other behind the leg. This allows you to set the suitcase aside and prepare to set up your espresso machine.
Setting Up Components
With the machine out, it's time to position the water tank, which is mounted underneath the machine. Pull out the tank and remove the power cable from inside. The tank should be reinserted with the handle facing out. Detach the magnetically mounted back panel, and remove the elastic band from the lever. Lift the lever, push the water tank in, and let the lever drop.
Next, slide the tablet into its designated slot until it stops. Remove protective plastic from the group head controller and the mirror. Unpack the portafilter and lock it in place. Assemble the group head handle by screwing it in. The DE1XL's power cable, which is concealed inside, should be threaded through the leg hole for a secure fit.
Final Preparations
To fill the water tank, lift the lever, pull the handle forward, and pour water using the steam wand. Slide the tank back in and lower the lever. Ensure the standby switch is pushed in, signifying the machine is ready to be powered on. If the group head controller lights up without completing the self-test, verify that the standby switch is flush with the front. Once all these steps are complete, you're ready to brew your first espresso with the Decent DE1XL.
